The Particle Enigma
I enjoyed reading your editorial #2 and although wiser minds than mine are needed to wrestle through your proposals, I do have two history-related questions.
Question 1: Your generation produced some profound thinkers whom I greatly admire. How did your own high school education contribute to your success? Were you taught history/literacy or facts, equation and procedures, or how to do science? Was your education for the elite or the masses? (By “your” I am referring to scientists of your generation).
Question 2: Why did Project Physics fall out of favor? Was there a change of philosophy at the time? Older teachers who used it still speak of it fondly. It was before my time, so I really don’t know.
On a more personal note, Jim I love your website design. Beautiful!
